I'm locked out of my house! Is it illegal?

I locked myself out of my house, but my front window is open. Is it still illegal even if it is my own house? My friend got arrested because she broke into a house. They had to take her kids to CPS and I really don't want them to take my kids just because I broke in. Please help me. It is really hot outside and I have my cold lemonade inside. I really don't want to get arrested. Do I go into my house through this window or not?
